Privacy
The short versionThe parts run on your phone. What you put into them stays there; the shop never sees it. What the shop learns when you pay depends on how you pay, and it is listed below.
This website
- The store counts visits by the day. No cookies, no IP addresses, no tracking scripts.
- Our web host keeps the standard server logs every web host keeps (address, time, page asked for) for security. We do not use them to follow anyone.
- Your settings on these pages (bigger text, less motion) are saved on your phone only.
What we see, way by way
- Card or phone wallet. Stripe gets your card details. We see the name and email you give Stripe, the last four digits of the card, the amount and the date.
- Digital dollars. Your wallet address and the amount, which are also on a public ledger. An email too, if you give one.
- Cash at a counter. Nothing.
- Cash or check by mail. Whatever you write on the slip, the check and the envelopes. The return envelope is used to mail your key card and nothing else; we do not keep the address.
- Name your price. At $0, nothing. Above that, whatever the way you pay shows.
- Take a spare key. Nothing.
- Trade work for it. What you send in, and the email address you send it from.
- Keys for a crowd. Your group name and how to reach you.
Stripe handles card and crypto payments under its own privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
Inside the parts
What you type, photograph or save in a part stays on your phone. A few parts talk to a server for a shared list or a shared game; the box on the shelf says so under Talks to, and the part's own gear says what goes there.
What we never do
- Sell, rent or trade anything about you.
- Run ads or ad trackers.
- Put what is in your parts into an AI. It never reaches us to begin with.
Kids
The store sells to adults. Parts made for kids are run by the grown-up who bought them.
Your say
